Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy based on the idea that all organs and body systems are mapped or ‘reflected’ onto the feet.  It follows the principle that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body.  Reflexology works to release this congestion and/or tension from working on the reflex points or within the zones that are painful, and also looking at the attitude of mind which creates these tender points.

A reflexology session can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing, and therefore reducing stress in people’s lives.  This can be instrumental in optimising good health and building resilience.

Reflexology can be safely used alongside standard healthcare.

Back pain, neck pain, arthritis, depression, anxiety and stress are just some of the conditions reflexology may be able to provide relief from.

I qualified in Reflexology in 2007 with the West Australian School of Reflexology under the guidance (and tough love!!) of Lynn Hatswell.  I am also a Certified Foot Reading Practitioner.

My work is influenced by Lynn’s teachings (now retired)  and also Sam Belyea, Geraldine Villeneuve and Sally Kay.

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD)

RLD is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes in the feet.  The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body. It is a unique system that has been researched and developed by Sally Kay BSc (Hons), while working in Cancer Care.

Research is continuing into this technique with early indications suggesting that RLD may be helpful for fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, migraine, coeliac, lipedema to name a few.

If you suffer with a chronic fatigue related illness, lymphoedema, auto-immune conditions, migraines, headaches, sinus problems, swelling, stiff joints- then try a course of RLD.
